THE FLYING SQUAD:
The Masport Goliath 4WD Ride-on mower (built by SECA USA) is perfect for demanding conditions such as mature, neglected and rough terrain where traction can be compromised, for example, hills and slopes, undulations, sandy and wet conditions, where other mowers struggle. The Goliath will cut and mulch high grass, brush (up to 50mm thick), thistles, and most overgrown and out of control vegetation. The 110cm (43") cutting deck does not directly deflect cuttings from the side therefore keeping paths, driveways, building, fences and gardens free from cut debris. The Goliath is light weight, fully portable, low centre of gravity mower that is designated for mulching of unmaintained, seeding and other neglected areas. It is a professional 4WD with a mechanical differential lock and is usable in such areas, where to use another machine is impossible. Its 1485mm total width allows it to access areas that are normally not accessible by tractor-slasher combinations, e.g. clearing safe walkways behind Armco Barriers and accessing areas behind buildings with no vehicle access.
 
Its application will work well in a “Flying Squad” environment where jobs are too far apart (drive time) to do with tractor-slasher combination, too large for handwork or brush cutting and normal ride-on mowers lack capacity. Apart from being road registered (limited commercial registration), this machine also travels on a full off-road 8x5m trailer which allows access to areas not normally accessible by trucks - and loads/off-loads in a matter of minutes. ​
